Hand-woven in the north-west corner of Persia, Heriz rugs are some of the most tough and long lasting.

The sheep in the Heriz region produce very strong wool because of the high concentrations of copper that are present in their drinking water.

Most Heriz area rugs are woven with a large geometrical central medallion surrounded by floral motifs and a strong outside border. Heriz rugs that are smaller in size or absent of a medallion with an all-over pattern are considered more rare.

Another rare feature of Heriz rugs is a blue mirror (Indigo color on all four corners of the rug).

Most Heriz runner rugs are woven with several geometrical medallions consistent from end to end with a strong outside border.

We recommend these pieces for high traffic living areas. They are built to last a lifetime.
